This slide show chronicles Phase One of the South 5th condominium project during
construction, including conceptual renderings and photos of all stages of construction.
The South 5th Condominiums were conceptualized and put into motion by
Acero Construction in Austin, TX with the goal of producing the finest
in sustainable and energy-efficient condominium living in the Austin area.
The use of insulated concrete forms in the construction of this project is but
one of many ways the team plans to gain LEED certification and embrace
green building practices.
Integrated Wall Systems and Amvic Building System are honored to be a
part of this exciting project.
One of the key environmentally friendly design innovations on this project is the
integration of the stormwater detention system within the building foundation. This basin
will not be visible and won't waste surface space while serving as a catchment
system to hold stormwater runoff allowing the city's system to keep pace with heavy
rainfall.
The bottom concrete floor of the basin is visible in the progressing photos above.
All four buildings of Phase One were built simultaneously. The slide show
includes shots of key construction steps, including ICF wall bracing and
shoring required to pour the concrete floors of the three-story units.
Notice while viewing how closely the end result is to the renderings, and
be sure the visit the South 5th website for detailed information about
the project.
