Children's Treatment Center Dormitory
Canyon Lake, TX
The contractor for this project had built his home using Amvic ICF from Integrated Wall Systems about 1-1/2 years prior to this project's inception. Having the experience and proven performance of ICF fresh in his mind,he was able to convince the owners of this children's home to build their newest dormitory using the superior building technology.
Consulting with Energywise Structures, the contractor was able to reduce the HVAC system requirements from 20 tons to 12 tons and the electrical service from 600 amps to 400. The resulting savings completely offset the cost of the ICF process and will provide the owners and residents with years of low energy and maintenance costs as well as a structure that is resistant to damage that can come with children's facilities.
The building features "Time Out" rooms that will offer extreme sound control that will enhance learning activities for residents in class in the event that an unruly child is placed in "Time Out."
